One of my favorite exercises: The double clean and press. One of my favorite workouts: Doing five reps on the minute, every minute, for ten minutes. The double clean and press works (virtually) every muscle in your body, develops strength, power and stamina, burns a mountain of calories, and teaches you how to produce, reduce and redirect force. As far as exercises go, this one is pretty--pretty, but not perfectly--complete. So here is my challenge to you, my wonderful friends: Men get a set of 20kg, or 24kg; women a set of 12kg, or 16kg. Set the clock for ten minutes, then, do five reps on the minute, every minute, for ten minutes. I would prefer you cut reps before cutting weight if form starts to falter. And what is this workout good for? The answer could be approached by stating simply what this workout is not good for, to which I have found no acceptable answer except for teaching you how to play Bachs D Minor Prelude on the cuspidor.
