One of my favorite people in the world: the wife of TV Legend Steve Allen: JAYNE MEADOWS. I LOVE Jayne! For years, we served food to the poor and needy on Skid Row together; we always worked side by side, and, as my young daughter tagged along with me, she and Jayne became best buddies...just inseperable , and they loved each other! My daughter had no idea that Jayne and her husband were famous, and didnt care; she just loved Miss Jayne, and Jayne loved her. It made my day every time I saw Jayne Meadows, and when a new book on Steve Allen came out, called Inventing Late Night , since Steve was the original Host of The Tonight Show, Jayne not only sent me a copy of the book, hot off the presses, she also autographed it for me and my daughter. As Jayne Meadows now turns 95 years young, just the thought of my friend makes me smile. I may not see her like I used to, but I dont have to: I always know that Jayne Meadows is the ultimate Woman with class, and I am honored to say that I know her.
