One of my favorite strategies to a healthy mind while sculpting your body is Smash the Scale, as some of you may remember. Because as you work on building muscle and losing fat, the number on the scale is not going to indicate your progress...if youre doing both at the same time, the number will hardly move. BUT!!! I am weighing myself now. When I was done with the show in Miami, I let everything go as you probably know already. I have built no muscle (all the food I was eating could have been great fuel to build some muscle lol), and so I know that what I have put on has been body fat. Here is the moment of truth... 3 1/2 months after my show, I hit my all time high weight of 140. Now some of you are probably rolling your eyes at me because 140 is something many people WANT to be. But if you havent seen me in person, you wont know that I am only 51 and 140 is generally not where I should be. You may remember in my before picture that I was 129. Something I am keeping aware of is that back then I had almost no muscle! Now, I know I have more than I did then, so overall body composition is different and I am not back at square one... but that doesnt change how I feel about having gained 20 (TWENTY) POUNDS post show. All that being said....I am down 5 lbs since last week. I am making it known that I am officially on a weight loss journey post competition. This does not mean that I am taking any drastic measures, rather I am making better choices and taking it meal by meal. My once weekly treat time is tomorrow and I cant wait!!! Thank you all for your support and letting me feel comfortable enough to tell you all my dirty truths :)
