One of my favorite things about writing is watching women in this industry use their voices. Thanks to the community, I feel like as a whole we are all claiming, voicing and utilizing our opinions. Some of us possibly for the first time. Authors are imagining and putting what they dream up in books. The deeper we go, the bigger the reward. It can be so scary when you realize people will know what goes on in your head and you write it anyway. Bloggers are using their love for reading and their strong opinions about that pastime to be heard as individuals. Im thinking back to reading before we were all internet-y and how amazing it was to find someone that liked the same books that you did. And now you can find all sorts of groups, blogs and reviews to connect with. I love reading and my favorite stories were/are unique ones. I feel like with all the ladies out here writing romance we are getting a ton of raw, straight from the tap creativity that is making the variety for a reader mind-blowing. Readers are comfortable with summing up books and how hey feel about them in reviews or their own blogs with their personal style stamped on it. All of this stuff is about a lady deciding that her voice is valid and important. I think the consequences of that go far beyond a hobby. Ive seen people say the market is saturated. Personally, I see every book, blog and review as a lady having the courage to be heard. We need that. Put it into the universe girls! (And I know there are dudes out here doing all these things as well, and you rock, you really do!) Amen. Also Ive been up forever tonight and I want to be less awake.
