One of my favourite cd ever. Since 1993 i am listening it and it surprise me a lot. Will play music by John Coltrane next season with my quartet on Hard Bop Sessions. ____________________________________________________ At this point in John Coltranes career, during the mid-50s, hed been playing in groups led by Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk. This album paints a perfect picture of Coltrane as a player, composer and bandleader. He chose all of the musicians for this date, including Lee Morgan on trumpet and Philly Joe Jones on drums.
