One of my fondest memories of Mexia is the First United Methodist - TopicsExpress

One of my fondest memories of Mexia is the First United Methodist Church, and Dr. Charles Rice was an amazing pastor. He brought so much love and joy to Mexia, and I was treated like a daughter in Tanya and Dr. Rices home. Amy was one of my closest friends growing up. It always brings smile to my face when mom tells the story of growing up in the church. Mom worked at the church, so we were there much more than the average member. Mom always taught us to talk quietly in the church, because I frequently forgot it was the sanctuary. One day mom was in her office, and she heard me squealing and running through the sanctuary. She opens the door to remind me to be quiet; however , she finds Dr. Rice (the pastor) chasing me and having fun. I am so saddened to hear of his passing today, and my heart breaks for Tanya, Amy, and Chuck. You all are so loved.
