One of my messages that is more just for me to say so out into the wilderness, but Alec Guinnesss Smiley is a revelation, even after I read the book and saw the movie, even after Ive watched his performance all the way through for a second time. Was there ever an actor who could so make the banal transplendent? I cant think of any actor who could make you tremble to your core at the blankness of his face.
