One of my very favorite people came into my office today to give me the news. His wife had been fighting a battle with leukemia for 3 years, a tough battle she did everything within her power to stand up to it, but sadly she lost her battle Saturday. He was rejoicing in the fact that she had gone home to be with her Father the one she truly loved. She was now at the right hand of Jesus and suffering no more. As he told us about it all I could do is cry, he stood up and gave me a very big hug and told me that he knows how hard it is on someone fighting the fight to hear someone had lost. He whispered in my ear dont you dare give up, dont you dare quit till your battle is done. You see it is really is so very, very hard for a person who is in the battle to hear of others losing the battle. It is so hard especially when your having it tough and your just putting one foot in front of the other to hear about how someone you know did everything right and they dont make it. Even though it is not the same as you it really is all the same, it really is all this horrible disease that not only takes over your life but scares the hell out of you. Do those around you a big favor when someone tells you of their battle of what they are going thru dont tell them stories of people that lost their battle. Tell them how it might of affected you and how you felt. When your a survivor or a person that is doing the battle it is so very hard to hear the stories of people that didnt make it. It sometimes gives that person the feeling of dread or the worst is the feelings of guilt. You cant help but wonder why you survived and they didnt, when battling illness sometimes mentally is the most important thing you have and when you get down it is really hard, hard to get back up again. I love you all and wanted to share my journal entry again tonight thought it might help someone understand or it might be just want someone needs.
