One of our bloggers, Jeannette Wisby is participating in a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser. Please have a look and consider voting for her... and please support Habitat for Humanity if you can! Once again this year I am participating in the Habitat for Humanity upcycle challenge. Voting has begun so I am reaching out to you for votes. Being away when it was announced left me little time to ‘get creative’ but I believe in this organization and wanted to do something so I headed down to the Habitat Re-use Centre and found these huge/solid wood columns and an Ikea floating shelf and some decorative molding. I decided to create a ‘thin’ console table that could fit in small spaces and with the piece of wood cut off I made a chunky candle holder which can be left on the floor (and it cannot be knocked over as it weighs a ton), or on a sturdy surface. We were partnered with Rustoleum products so I used the stone effects product on the legs and the hammered metal for the console top. Not elaborate but fun and useful….. Follow this link and give me a vote. a.pgtb.me/KkP9Lp You may only vote once per entry every 24 hours. All of the projects are amazing and each upcycle will be up for auction at the Toronto Fall Home Show, which runs from September 18-21st, at Booth #240 (opposite the Main Stage). All proceeds from the auction will be used to support ongoing work at Habitat for Humanity GTA.
