One of our stranger family pets are our fiddler crabs. We started out with 2 males and 4 females sometime around Christmas. The first week we lost a female and some time later one of the males died. Then two of our females ended up pregnant! Pregnant crabs look like they have a weird sponge attached to their bellies. I did some research and everything I read said that they wont hatch in captivity because they need tide water to survive. However- tonight I come home to HUNDREDS of tiny baby crab specks swimming in the tank!!!!! I dont know if they will survive or not- but if they do Ill be giving away fiddler crab babies to every one of you!!! By the looks of things Ill have 500+ if they all make it. Holy moly.
