One of the advantages of having a large family (four kids, eight grandkids) is the occasional discovery of some artifact in some forgotten book. Below is the text of a note I wrote in 1982 after a conversation with my son Chris Chamberlain, who was five years old at the time. Chris: Did they hang Jesus in Bethlehem? Randy: Well, they put him on a cross, and I think it was in Jerusalem. Chris: Why? Randy: Some people thought Jesus was bad, but he wasnt. He was really God. But they didnt know, so they killed him. Chris: Because of his powers and the tricks he did and stuff? Randy: Not exactly... Chris: Was he dead? Randy: He was. Chris: What is dead? Randy: Like Margaret is dead. Just dead. No more heartbeat. The eyes wont open. But what did Jesus do after a few days? Chris: They put white powder all over him? Randy: Im not too sure about that. What else did he do after he died? Chris: What? Randy: He arose from the dead. He came back to life. Chris: What does rose from the dead mean? Randy: It means he came back and was alive again. Chris: Oh. When is Brian going to be back?
