One of the best interpretations of a favourite Christmas Carol, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!; an orchestral version sung by the teenage Charlotte Church, performed in 1999 at the Benedictine Abbey of the Dormition on Mount Zion in Jerusalem, just outside the walls of the Old City near the Zion Gate, built on the site of the death and burial of the Blessed Virgin. The music of this carol was composed by the great young composer Felix Bartholody Mendelssohn (1809 -1847), while the lyrics below, theologically very profound written by the theologian and famous hymnwriter Charles Wesley, laud Christs Incarnation: I. Joyful, all ye nations, rise, Join the triumph of the skies; With th angelic host proclaim:, Christ is born in Bethlehem. Hark! The herald angels sing: Glory to the newborn King! II.
