One of the best ways to begin adding more greens to your diet is by utilizing fresh herbs in your cooking. Remember herbs are very flavorful, and nutrient dense with healing properties, so easy does it. I have been experimenting with fresh herbs in my smoothies. I often put a couple mint leaves in fruit flavored smothies and have just begun enjoying more savory green smoothies. This morning my smoothie consisted of a mixture of filtered water and coconut water, about 2 Cups total. I added a cucumber, skin and all, a generous handful of celery leaves, half an avocado, a pinch of sea salt, and just a few leaves of fresh Rosemary and Sage! The result was a yummy, fresh and creamy drink and a healthy lower calorie way to start my day.
