One of the first albums I wore out on my record player was Mad Dogs and Englishmen, the roaring live album of Joe Cocker and friends. About a dozen or so years later, when I was a reporter, I saw him in concert in a smallish club (about 500 people) and got to interview him after the show for a story. He was such a sweet man, with huge, clear green eyes (or so I recall). What a treat it was to see him and to talk to him. Very sad to hear of his passing. And sharing this tonight, one of my favorite songs of his (1, 2, 3, 4... )
