One of the first things I learned about after becoming a born - TopicsExpress

One of the first things I learned about after becoming a born again believer in Christ, although I did not understand how it could possibly happen, was that you are going to be offended. People in the world are going to offend you and people you go to Church with are going to offend you. Now with FB and people expressing their opinions and NO one wants to be wrong, it is so easy to get your feelings and emotions all in a tangle. Now if someone posts something they think is spiritual or religious and someone else makes a comment that they are in error or disagreement, the one posting usually gets mad and their friends come to the defense and then the offending person is usually unfriended or blocked. Now I want you to think about this for a second, or two, take your time....... you could be wrong! Even if your intentions were good and were meant to give all the warm and fuzzy feelings that you were trying to express. Think about this, not everyone is looking for warm and fuzzy, some need to just hear the TRUTH. We should do and act like Christ said we should, he didnt suggest it, he said we must LOVE one another. So, to wrap this up, next time someone offends you, ask yourself WHY it offends you before you throw a fit. Not all preach the same, not all preachers and teacher are the same. Does it line up with the Word of God? Do they give you the scriptures to prove the truth? Do you? FB is a great way to spread the gospel and the love of Christ, but sometimes reading something loses a little warmth. Its may just be the way some people come across, not meaning to be rude.... Any how, have mercy and compassion, debate not argue, we are all members of the body of Christ and with all the turmoil and evil going on in the world right now, we need to be united as Christians. James 1:19-20 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for mans anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. James 2:12-13 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful, Mercy triumphs over judgment. James 5:9 Dont grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! And Im going to throw this one in for good measure, just because I love it so: James 5:19-20 My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his ways will save him from death and cover a multitude of sins. Glory to God. Some people may even think I am cherry picking scriptures to fit what I want to say. To them I say this: This is what I know God put on my heart to say and led me to the scriptures, so quit grumbling and know that I love you anyway. Peace.
