One of the great epidemics of our age is the number of LGBT youth kicked-out of their homes and forced to survive on the streets. Many of them resort to prostitution to survive and others become ensnared in involuntary human trafficking. While Evangel Pacific provides meals, clothes, bikes, and whatever other tools the homeless need to survive, we have instituted a push to get as many of these people off the streets as possible. A meal lasts until it is consumed. The redeeming love and redemptive power of Jesus Christ lasts forever. The restoration power of Christ DOES changes hearts, minds and begins to heal. The Church has done a poor job in reaching to these young people who are LGBT. To be LGBT and homeless on the streets is the 21st century leper colony of our society. First rejected in their homes. rejected by the church and then rejected on the streets unless they hustle. Love is overshadowed by the darkness of their reality. Pray for us as we increase our efforts to educate both the church and these young people and attempt to bridge the gap between the two.
