One of the great feature films of the silent era is F.W. Murnaus Sunrise (Fox -- 1927), starring Janet Gaynor and George OBrien. My mother, Sally Phipps, was cast in a minor part in two small but poignant scenes in an amusement park sequence. Sally, with a partner, played by Barry Norton, dances cheek-to-cheek across the screen. The couple is first admiringly observed by Janet Gaynor, and a little later, during a pig chasing sequence, is discovered by George OBrien in a kissing clinch. youtu.be/GnLVMREVA6M?t=1h1m27s Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) [HD] Directed by F.W.
