One of the greatest arguments that most theist seem to always throw out is that without god then Humans cannot be Moral, they often argue that morality only exist because god exists and that without god it would be impossible for us to be truly moral. If however you look at history, the opposite is true, every religion has had at some point, caused wars and killings, and hatred and judgement and restriction of rights and it is only because people were able to see the failures of these beliefs that we as a people were able to distinguish right from wrong and therefore build on morality. If their claims were so iron clad as they believed ,then many Christians, Jews and Islamist would have to kill their families, but they too cannot deny that they have adapted the atheist ways of morality. Just think about it, why is it no longer acceptable for Christians to stone their wives? or to chop off the hand of a thief or own a slave, (not that some still dont practice these acts) Human rights for women, children, gays, slaves, all stemmed from watching countless believers kill in the name of their God or practice beliefs which are actually contradictory to what they claim, it was religious, god fearing people, that slaughtered millions all in the name of their god, it was those same people that believed in the silencing of women and the rape of children, some of them today may not be as outspoken but yet they still silently try to restrict the rights of individuals while preaching morality in the name of their god. Society has evolved from watching that form of morality and it is because of that that people were able to grow, some of those theists just adapted atheist beliefs and had it accredited to their god, morality did not stem from god, it came because we were able to see how things didnt work out to good for the religious.
