One of the hardest things about having a child with NF is that people think they look so great. What could possibly be wrong? Or my child gets chided by work, school, social organizations when they miss something due to an illness that is not outwardly visible on her at this time. As if two brain surgeries, 32 MRIs and three years of chemotherapy, becoming deaf is not enough to convince anyone that something is happening over which she does not have much control. So many times..people with chronic illness have to take advantage of the times that they feel good. Believe me...my young person would much rather not have NF and make all her obligations. Shes tough as nails but she is human...Just saying and venting!!! Christ some people are so ignorant!
