One of the highlights of our BTW rally in Branson was getting to participate in a Patriot Guard escort ride. A large group of children (about 50) who had lost a parent in the war were being treated to Silver Dollar City and we escorted them to the resort where they were staying. It was very moving and a lot more emotional than I expected. We passed a police car and he immediately started his car, got in front and escorted us the rest of the way. After we arrived, we talked with them and told them they were welcome to get on the trikes and have their pictures made. They jumped on that opportunity, of course, and seemed to really enjoy it. It felt good to see all the smiles and know we had brought a little sunshine to kids to had been thru so much.
