One of the many things I like about Muhammad Ali is that he played to his strengths, and more importantly, he exploited his opponents weaknesses. He won a battle before it even got to the ring, many times with mind games he orchestrated, which the media helped him largely in that effort. When it came to opponents, by distracting their focus, bruising their egos, and generally scarring them, he was able to show up to a ring and patiently and diligently ride to victory. Essentially, his opponent beat himself for Ali. Granted, once he was in that ring he had the physical prowess to earn his victories rightfully too. My point is we can learn a lot from Alis techniques. What stands out here is that even if youre strong in a given department, it doesnt mean you only have to use that one skill to achieve your goal(s). I like that, and sometimes I forget that. The path of least resistance is a smoother journey to get to where youre going.
