One of the most destructive shifts happening in the West- is the shift from a duty based culture to a rights based culture. Every part of society is being affected, including family, justice, business & government & society itself will be badly damaged by this seismic shift. Sadly the church is following the trend! Instead of being a beacon of light & truth it is largely teaching a message that fits this generation instead of challenging it. Things like Sonship are being taught & celebrated unnaturally over servanthood as Christians become obsessed with rights over duties. A church being celebrated which requires no service( or service on my terms), but which tells me what I want to hear. A gospel being preached which places humans at the centre of the universe, instead of God. Most Christians & christian leaders dont seem to be able to discern the wood from the trees in what is happening. The huge danger is that if we do not- we will come under the same judgement as the world will. The Church should not imitate the world- it is destined to CHANGE it!
