One of the most important life lessons I have ever learned and am - TopicsExpress

One of the most important life lessons I have ever learned and am still learning from is becoming an observer of life. Kind of a huge topic but a somewhat short explanation below... We are born with 5 senses (sight, touch, hear, taste, smell). Our 5 senses are constantly being bombarded with stimulation and take in information all day. Our subconscious minds then process and store this information quietly like a computer. This constant processing and storing creates our 6th sense of “feeling and emotion”. These 6 senses collectively create our “reality”…and create what we perceive of as “real around us. And as we live our daily lives...those feelings/emotions are what lead us to the decisions we make. We embody those decisions hoping for the best possible outcome which then leads us to attachment. We become attached to certain feelings. We become attached to specific outcomes. We become attached to things, people, circumstances... And its this attachment that leads us to creating expectations...of how things should turn out, what others should do, expecting something in return for something else, etc. Those expectations burn deep within us…because we want things to turn out OUR way. After all, we are pleasure seeking creatures. We always want our way…we always want pleasure…not pain. Why wouldn’t we? Our ego’s don’t like to get hurt! And when that happens our daily lives become surrounded by FEAR. Fear of debt Fear of other people’s thoughts about or self image Fear of death Fear of being alone Fear of being rejected Fear of not making money Fear of no food Fear of not succeeding Fear of being truly happy Fear of relationships Fear that things wont turn out the way we want them to and the list goes on and on and on… This fear is created within each of us because our bodies and brains are designed for us to seek pleasure through our 6 senses and we are always trying to avoid what we consider pain...at almost all costs. We create these invisible barriers and walls for ourselves of if this then that. BUT…when we become the “observer”...when we become the observer is when things shift. When we can push a bit away from this reality we’ve created for ourselves and realize that we are just watching ourselves do things in this “world”. When we realize that our physical bodies and what we are experiencing here on Earth is temporary...we transcend and “observe” ourselves from afar…and that’s when we become EMPOWERED. When we just observe life, let go of all attachments (living and non-living), drop all our expectations, and understand that feelings rise and fall just like the waves ...we live in peace and fear doesn’t have it’s bearings on our lives. We then realize that we (as individuals) are not our thoughts, feelings, expectations, physical bodies or outcomes of situations...and we are truly just observers of this life...ie we are conscious soul-creatures witnessing our physical bodies go through changes over time. Being in that space of observing allows us to make decisions from a different perspective. We tap into the space in between our thoughts, actions and feelings...the silence...which is the TRUE reality…and what deeply drives us to our calling. Once we become observers and live in alignment we learn to NOT make our decisions from our 6 senses and feelings/emotions but rather from a higher place of internal observation...you can kick any habit, form any new one, get rid of fear and pretty much do/achieve anything you want in life. When you become the “observer”...you become the master of your life, you become fearless and you become love. Im not saying Ive mastered this...but when I make the effort to practice this...usually only amazing things happen. Imagine if the whole world did? #meditation #wisdom #download
