One of the most memorable talk shows of the 1960s-1980s was Two for the Road. Two for the Road was originally telecast over ABS-CBN in the 1960s with Joey Lardizabal and Eddie Mercado as co-emcees of Elvira Manahan. It moved briefly to PTV Channel 4 in 1979 before transferring to GMA Channel 7 where it ran until Elviras untimely demise in October 1986, with Nestor Torre as co-host. What set apart Two for the Road, was its casual party atmosphere, the constant laughter, the guests, and Elvira herself: always so viva, so full of mischief, so nonchalantly chic, and so entertainingly irreverent. There was no one like her!
