One of the perks of living at our new place is that were right above a grocery store. Thats not as convenient as youd think - as explained by my trip this morning to get a carton of coffee creamer. The store is a block long. We live on the far left side of the building. The stairs/elevator to descend is on the far right side so I walk a block to get there. Once you get downstairs, the entrance to the store is on the far left side again - another block back and when I enter, Im below our apartment finally. Creamer is on the far right side of the store so back I go that way. Check out in the middle, back to the exit, then a block back to the stairs, then back the length of the building to our apartment again. I - literally - walk six blocks (and traipse up and down 14 flights of stairs) each time to go the grocery store downstairs in my building.
