One of the places the Department of Veterans Affairs sent me in Inglewood wants $435/month for rent. Everything else is provided from food, room, kitchen, showers, public computers, weight room, and public transportation. In the meantime, this is temporary until my friend receives his service connection, then we both can look for a two bedroom apartment in Santa Monica. And I am attending Santa Monica College for the fall semester, and I still receive the Post 9/11 GI Bill, along with the Army Fund Kicker (Montgomery GI Bill), so I am highly paid and it would allow me to save for a place in Santa Monica.
