One of the problems faced by youth in the country is unemployment and when capable youth are prepared to write any examinations, when the time of interview comes, they have to resort to some recommendation to get the job. The middle class youth in this country and their families have to shell out lakhs of rupees for getting suitable recommendations for jobs. This is one form of corruption. In Gujarat when we had to fill up vacancies of 13000 teachers, we simply used written application forms and gave clear criteria for selection and marks for each entries. More than 40 lakhs people filled in and sent the forms and through computer software the top 13000 entries were screened and appointment orders were sent direct to their homes. Many widowed women and other such people who desperately needed income to run homes got jobs without any human intervention.
