One of the very big issues down here is the recently concluded Zimmerman trial revolving around the death of young Trayvon Martin. This is an issue that as Canadians we are hard pressed to get our heads around especially the convoluted logic of "Stand your Ground" defense (not used but implied in this case) and the right to self defense. This is a much more complicated issue that most of us realize as it strikes at the heart of what the purposes and intents of laws passed really are. I will have more to say on this from a Canadian (outsider) perspective.
