One of those old stories from the past that make you say Uhhhh.---1961, Senior Corpsman with G-2-7 at Camp Pendleton. Wet net training. One of the Marines fell from the ship with a full pack and weapon. I was on the beach. Two Marines pulled him out. I placed him on his stomach and pumped a little water. Flipped him over and started mouth to mouth. He vomited in my face. I vomited back in his face. Marines on the beach were passing out, left and right. Sent him to Camp Pendleton Hospital. He survived with only immersion pneumonia. My Marines were asking How do you do that, doc? I said You just do what you have to, without thinking.. Cant even remember the Marines name.
