One of what started out as the best day ever in NYC has turned into the absolute most frustrating day EVER! I completed my summer bucket list and successfully drove into NYC by myself! Had a great day with Girl Twin & #3 at Broadway Flea Market. I saw Brandon Martin , met Tyne Daley and the kids won a pair of VIP Tix to Aladdin! On our way back to the car we got caught up in the Climate March. God love people and their passions and standing up for what they believe but the chaos this parade has caused the traffic within NYC has caused more pollution due to traffic jams and idling cars and extra police action. Once it was time for us to go, we found out we couldnt exit the lot bc the parade had 42nd SHUT DOWN for the next 3 hours!!!!!! While killing time, We were then bumped into, almost scared to death by acolourful NYC citizen, inhaled several cigarettes and then got lucky enough to see a down and out man with his ass and scrotum hanging out while laying on the street. Once we finally made it out of the garage only 2.5 hrs later I was redirected to Lincoln Tunnel so many times, my jeep was sitting idle so badly it began to overheat and I was worried it wouldnt cool off and break down on me if I EVER made it to the tunnel. So I parked the jeep in a SECOND garage for Tom to bring home tomorrow. Head to the PATH but its shut down for some reason so BACK to NJTransit to be met with THRONGS of people from the parade, the Yankee game and just everyday visitors. I am hot. I am tired. I am about to cry bc my perfectly great day is now clouded with frustrating and anxious comments barked at my kids and to strangers. Now on the train with a guy begging for money and scrambIing for a bafroom I try to be kind and patient to everyone and every situation but damnit Im really mad at NYC right now.
