One person is dead after an axe attack which took place in several homes in Upper Hutt. Police found one person dead from axe injuries when they arrived at a Blueberry Grove, Timberlea house at 8.45pm, police central communications shift commander Dave Rose said. Three people were found injured at different addresses in the Timberlea area. Two people with moderate injuries were taken to Hutt Hospital. A third was treated by ambulance paramedics called to the scene and was helping police with their investigations. One person was arrested in connection with the event, Rose said. No further information was available on the arrested person. It was not known what events had led up to the attack or if any of the four victims knew the arrested man. Police have cordoned the scene and are currently speaking with residents in the area to establish what has occurred...Were very much still trying to put the pieces together. Anyone with any information was asked to contact the Wellington police on (04) 381 2000. A Blueberry Gr neighbour, up the street from the incident, said she had seen a number of ambulances, police cars and fire engines with their lights flashing at the scene about 9pm. Ad Feedback She said the street was typically a quiet one, but years ago residents had been caught manufacturing methamphetamine.
