One thing that really bothers me about weather reporting, and, specifically Oak Glen: they keep calling this is a freak storm. Nonsense. It was a big storm, and whenever the clouds drop 4 of rain on a mountainside, you will have some pretty epic flooding, but weve been through this in 1998-9 (a much bigger flood), and literally every summer, sometime in late July or early August, theres a period of intense heat, followed by cloud build up, followed by a big thunderstorm. Greg Anton used to tell me that his grandfather, Blackie Wilshire, was always on guard against hail storms ruining the apple crop. It isnt climate change, folks. Its a random thing, with predictable spikes, called the weather.
