One time, I was driving next to my buddy, he in a wrx and I in my e46 m3. It didnt take much to entice him into good ole fashioned street race... Through 2nd and 3rd gear it was even, by 4th I was walking away by a margin. I smiled at this moment... Until I saw the curve approaching, I was doing around 145mph. One second later I was in the corner, throttle neutral, as not to upset the rear end. I turn in , white knuckled and as expected, my very capable car responds with a well get back to you on that... For the first time, Im light. My car has less grip that normal due to aero working against me. Its terrifying. Im turning the steering wheel back in forth constantly in an effort to stay off the median and stay alive, all the while staying on the gas knowing if I let off my back end is coming out and Im dead (I was not wearing seatbelt). Mind you the highway is empty, I would never engage in this dangerous behavior with other cars around, except of course beloved friend... Clearly, I made it out ok. The moral of the story? I want another m3.
