One week down! And what a GLORIOUS week! Today was a harder day. The sores from yesterday actually went away, which Im SURE is a result of all of you faithful prayer warriors, but his throat is covered. So that is getting pretty painful for him when he eats/drinks. Hes given a medicine to suppress his immune system and guide the new marrow on Days +1, +3, +6, and +11. On day +1 they gave him pre meds that would help his nausea before this one specific medicine. Today, day +3, they did not give him pre meds. Needless to say, they learned their lesson and will listen to Mommy next time! ;-) After the throwing up, they gave him some anti- nausea medicine which knocked him out and hes been sleeping since about 1ish. It may be a long night! Sitting here while he sleeps can get lonely. In that loneliness, emotions rise. But Im thankful for some quiet time to spend alone with Jesus. Such strength it gives! Kurt and I are very aware after being on this road for 5 months, that families need support. Weve been so blessed by all of our family, our church, and TONS of people we dont know and have felt so supported, but we are the minority. Most up here dont have what we have. Were excited to come alongside others and walk with them. We are thinking big when it comes to ministry opportunities in the future as well. Kurt, it THRILLS my heart to dream with YOU!!! Praying the Lord uses us as vessels to share His love with MANY hurting families! We got to meet the family I mentioned in the post from this morning, but its been a very busy day for them. They thought theyd be discharged tonight, but are having to stay longer. We hope to talk more tomorrow. I cant share many details bc I dont have permission yet, but I can share that they have a son who is also 7! Please keep praying for them! Goodnight.
