One week today and i will be on my way to Diva my very last comp competing as i am retiring!!!! It both saddens me and excites me as freestyle has been a huge part of my life from a little girl and despite me still feeling as young as a kid, i am turning 20 this year so i think my time has come. Dancing has helped me in all aspects of my life and sure as hell will impact my future. It is the end of one chapter of my life and has opened the door to a new and exciting one ahead if me.I would like to thank my mum for being the backbone to it all, such an incredible woman doing everything possible for me and i really wouldnt be where i am without her. My amazing dance teacher and good friend Gillian Anderson without her i wouldnt be the dancer i am today, she is truely such an hardworking and inspiring woman.. one in a million! I still remember back in the day the first class i watched at le dance studio like it was yesterday, sitting at the side i knew right then where my heart belonged. I would also like to thank My big sister and bestfriend Jemma always there for a second opinion no matter where in the world we both are and always believed in me every step of the way. Both my sponsors Goldstar and vicky barkess for making me look and feel a million dollors on the dance floor so from the bottom of my heart thanks for everything. And to Pat,Gary and Brin from dancelines for my many incredible trips i have won over the years and The walkers for my trips to Florida i won, ive honestly had the time of my life on everyone of them and have memories i will treasure forever. And also to the amazing freestyle friends i have met from all over you will all be special to me. I still remember the days i sat on the carpet at the edge of the dance floor at my first big comp watching the champs dance their finals and seeing the fight in their eyes. This is what made me determined i was going to get there one day. Getting to where i am today just shows that anything is possible if you put your heart and soul into it. It doesnt matter who you are or how many trophies you have won because there is always someone out there working their ass off just as much as you so believe in yourself as it can happen! Cant wait to see you all in a week... Bring on DIVA!!!!! :-)
