One week, two events, two locations, one great exhibition. The week of November 12 will be a busy one for SFU Gallery. Join us for two events scheduled in conjunction with Samuel Roy-Bois’ exhibition “Not a new world, just a old trick”. Tuesday November 12, 6pm Panel Discussion with Samuel Roy-Bois, Robert Kleyn, Leslie Van Duzer World Art Centre, SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts 149 West Hastings Street, Vancouver BC Wednesday November 13, 12:30pm Lunchtime Exhibition Tour at SFU Gallery, Burnaby. Presented by SFU PhD Candidate in Archaeology Sarah Carr-Locke The Panel Discussion will unpack the dynamic between built environments and the fictional narratives suggested by art and architecture. Samuel Roy-Bois is a Vancouver based artist. Robert Kleyn is a Vancouver based artist and architect. Leslie Van Duzer is Director of UBC’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The Lunchtime Exhibition Tour will explore ideas of object agency and materiality within Samuel Roy-Bois’ work, from a museum studies perspective, and will discuss visitor reactions to this exhibit.
