One year ago, really early in the morning, I received a frantic phone call from a student telling me shes in labor and about to give birth in her hostel room. I quickly woke up and drove to the hostel while psyching myself..asking how was i going to deal with a pregnant woman in my car, probably shouting in labor pain. A few minutes later, I arrived at the hostel and called her to come down (coz I cannot go in the female hostel..heheheh). Her reply.. Sorry Doctor, I cannot go down. The baby is coming out now!!! Please help me I panicked and became scared. I have no idea what to do... The ambulance had been called and it was on its way. I took a deep breath and start to think clearly. I called Yanti Rosli G and tell her the situation. She thought it was an April Fool joke..hahahaha. Anyway, I gave her the students phone number and from then on, its just her and the student (along with her friends whos helping her). I suppose that was the FIRST and ONLY tele-midwifery in the world!!! .hahahahahah, She gave instructions through the phone to the students and a few minutes later, the baby was born. A healthy baby boy. And a few minutes after that, the ambulance came..(hahahahaha too late) That was an experience I will never forget for my whole life. To Dr Yanti, thanks for helping me when I panicked. To the mother, Thank Allah, your labor was quite an easy one. To the baby, I hope you grow up to be a person with great aspiration. After all, you were born in an university hostel room, surrounded by university students. And this story is not an April Fools story. its a true story
