One year ago today, I heard the words no Parent ever wants to hear. Your daughter has cancer. My then 17 year old beautiful Katie was diagnosed with an inoperable in curable brain tumor. She has endured 6 weeks of daily radiation, 2 surgeries, countless hours of OT and PT over that year. She also graduated high school, was crowned prom queen and was the recipient of 2 Courage awards during that year. Unfortunately last week we found out that her tumor is growing and Katie will need to fight even harder. She is truly amazing and inspires me every day with her strength and determination. On Sunday November 2nd we will be participating in the Brain Tumor Societys Race for Hope at the Art Museum in Philadelphia for team FOR KATE with the goal to raise much needed funds for brain tumor research. It would be terrific if another child and family did not have to endure the torture that we have the past year. PLEASE join us on November 2nd or donate to this cause that is so important to me.
