One year ago today our beautiful daughter Kiersten was born, ringing in 2014 in the most amazing way possible. Its hard to believe a whole year has already gone by, in a seemingly blink of an eye. Ill never forget the instant and deep love I felt when I first laid my eyes on her. Just like with Landon I am full of mixed emotions today about her one year birthday. I love that she is learning and growing every day, but also I cling to these early years. Its easy for me to get overwhelmed - for example when I am rocking her with a bottle and she slows down her drinking, looks at me in the eye, smiles around the bottle, and coos quietly. Or when I go in her room in the morning and I am greeted with a loud DA! and the biggest smile you can imagine. Or when I blow on her belly and she laughs uncontrollably. I am hit with this feeling during these times where I imagine myself in 10 or 20 years time, reminiscing about these moments, and knowing I would give anything to experience that perfect little slice of time just once more. I know these times will be replaced by other, different moments; but I just wish I could bottle them all up and hold them forever. On her first birthday, there is nothing more I could ask for. Kiersten is the sweetest, most beautiful girl I have ever known and every time I see her she melts my heart. I am definitely wrapped around her finger, and more so each and every day.
