"Only 13% of Cambodian-Americans over the age of 25 hold a college degree, followed by only 14% of Hmong and Laotians. While these high poverty rates and low rates of college attainment are similar to those of the Black and Latino communities we serve, Cambodian, Hmong and Laotian students are commonly overlooked in education reform efforts. They are lumped into the “Asian American” category as a byproduct of the Model Minority Myth and their very real needs get ignored". - H. Chen
