Only Believe By Dr. Agoso Arnobius Huladeino Bamaiyi “Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” – Mark 9:23. Whatever you dream of becoming and doing, and you are willing to believe God and make all the necessary sacrifices for, you will become and do. No matter your circumstance and background, all things are possible and achievable, if only you believe. The whole universe is wired and programmed to bring realization and fulfillment to those who dare to believe and pursue. Absolutely nothing is impossible. You see, no problem, difficulty, task, circumstance, situation, etc., is tougher, stronger, bigger, or greater than the human spirit working in tandem with an unshaking faith in God. Your race, tribe, ethnicity, country, region, challenges and problems are not as important as, or bigger than, the fact of your humanity and your determination to make a change and accomplish great things with your life. The assertion that any particular race or ethnicity or tribe is superior to another is one of the biggest and most damaging philosophical and cultural lies ever invented and foisted on humanity with a view to keep certain races and classes of people as a permanent underclass and underachievers. If truth must be told, progress in science, technology, industry, medicine, philosophy, engineering, etc., are all products and functions of humanity ingenuity and not products or functions of race, ethnicity, tribe, tongue, or country. One race or ethnicity is not more developed and more creative and productive than another, because it is superior. No. what it means is that one race or ethnicity, whether by chance or prior planning, has created the environment and circumstance that allows its human ingenuity and creativeness to manifest and flourish. It is simply enjoying the products of human ingenuity and not racial or ethnic superiority. If the other race or ethnicity is, somehow, able to create the environment that allows its human ingenuity to manifest, it too will be as productive. That is why, throughout all human history, civilizations rise and civilizations fall with the type of prevailing environment under which the people live at any given time. The state of the human individuals, and not their race or ethnicity, determines the state of any civilization and culture. Strong, mentally well-developed and spiritually healthy individuals, make for a strong and flourishing society, culture, and civilization. Reverse the conditions of the human individual and the reverse becomes the state of the same society, culture, and civilization. This is why I insist that progress in all spheres of life is due mainly to six factors and, fortunately, this factors are available to all human beings. Those who understand and utilize these factors, regardless their race, ethnicity, tribe, or country, will get the benefits and enjoy a high standard of life and productivity. The factors are: 1. Time – this speaks about how well a person/people utilize the time/life available to them purposefully, productively, and profitably. Time wasted is life wasted. That is why those who idle around and engage in time wasting never amount to much in life. 2. Chance – this speaks about how well a person/people utilize the circumstances and opportunities available to them purposefully, productively, and profitably. Those who do not take control of their circumstance and chances, bending them to work for their good, will be controlled by circumstances and made to live far below potential. 3. Talent – this speaks about how well a person/people utilize their God-given natural as well as spiritual endowments purposefully, productively, and profitably. Those who neglect their talents and spiritual endowments neglect their chance to be unique and outstanding in this life. 4. Preparation – this speaks about how well a person/people prepare, all-round - mentally, physically, and spiritually – to surmount the challenges of life and take the opportunities of life purposefully, productively, and profitably. Those who prepare well for life, live well in life. 5. Work – this speaks about the willingness and organizational wisdom of a person/people to commit themselves conscientiously to the necessary processes of life and make the necessary sacrifices that secure and ensure purposefulness, productiveness, and profitableness in life. 6. Positive attitude – this speaks about the positiveness of the mental state by which a person/people approach life, generally, and the other factors of life which, in turn, determines how purposeful, productive, and profitable life will turn out to be. Those who cultivate and deploy a positive attitude in life, lead positively great lives. Any individual and/or people – black, white, yellow, or red; European, American, African, Asian, or Australian – who understand and employ these factors of life will, eventually and certainly, rise to the point where their human ingenuity will manifest and lead to productivity and profitably. It is therefore a blatant lie, one of the worse ever concocted, that the black race and, by extension Nigerians since we are the nation with the largest number of black people on earth, are an inferior race and, hence, incapable of outstanding creativity and ingenuity. It’s a lie and is responsible for some of the worst atrocities in human history. The ongoing conflict in Darfur, southern Sudan is a good contemporary example. The light-skinned Arab population is on a mission to subdue the black African population so as to impose a long-held racial superiority. It’s a genocide based on presumed racial superiority – a diseased fallacy – that the rest of the world is not doing enough to halt. It is as sad as it is unfortunate. My advice to blacks and other underprivileged races and people – and this has always been my call – organize yourselves and make the best use of the factors of life available to you. Believe, and act upon your belief, that all things are possible. You can change your state and rise to greatness. If we make the best use of these factors of life that we just discussed, individually as well as collectively, we can be as great – with the possibility of becoming greater – than any privileged individual, nation, or race. We can make the impossible happen. We can break old records and create new ones. We can lead in science, industry, technology, medicine, etc., and all other areas and fields of human endeavor. Believing a solution paves the way to solution” – David Joseph Schwartz. Do not be afraid to dream big and to work towards the realization of your dream.
