Only Believe Meet Honorable Jairus Luke 8:40-53 (Akulu a m’pingo) in dire need of a miracle, and is so close to getting it. But, wait! Someone sneaks in and steals Jesus’ time. They had been waiting for Jesus, now this ka woman touches Jesus to the point that Jesus constitutes a commission of enquiry under the theme “who touched me”. Jairus by now is desperate and must be saying “bana mayo mwaba shani kanshi?”His window of opportunity maybe closed. This woman comes out of nowhere and causes a big scene. (ifi fine fya kwikata ikata Yesu). I bet you can identify with Jairus. His little girl is dying. Worse still The Bible says “the people thronged him.” Crowded, Jam- Packed, in today’s Zed lingo “Dibili”, delaying Jesus even more. As is that’s not bad enough bad news is brought by Bwana Jairus’ servants. “’Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master’” Verse 49. We have all waited on God for one thing or the other and have seen others step ahead of us in line. My father says “Delay is not denial!”It can feel like your blessing completely passed you by, while God was busy blessing others. Jesus heard what the servant had to say and told Jairus in verse 50, “Fear not; ONLY BELIEVE, and she shall be made whole.” Even though Jesus stopped to bless another, He didnt forget about Jairus. The bad situation had just got worse. The little girl had died. Yours maybe a delayed promotion, Long sickness, Rejection, etc Tonight Jesus is saying “Don’t panic.” Don’t freak out. Remove the conclusions of the matter and BELIEVE. Don’t take my word for it, it’s in the book. Welcome to Nightlight with Stephen.
