Only Saraki will determine if I will be governor – Baraje *Denies reports on his governorship ambition *Gongnews are liars, confusionists Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje has reacted to a publication of gongnews.net that says he nursed and is strategically located to succeed the incumbent governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed. Reacting to the news item in a rejoinder signed by Alhaji Mohammed Tunde Akanbi, Alhaji Baraje said “the write-up was just an imagination of the writer which has no iota of truth.” Alhaji Baraje said that “the story was also meant to create malice between him, and the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed as both of them have a cordial relationship.” The APC chieftain disclosed that, “Kwara State politics is a unique traditional one big political family where decisions are arrived at after wide consultations by the leader, Dr. Dr Bukola Saraki…will determine the next governor of Kwara Bukola Saraki and other party stakeholders. Alhaji Baraje therefore advised those that are out to cause disaffection and mischief between the hierarchy and the neatly dovetailed political family in the state to desist from such act (sic). According to Baraje, “when the time comes for politicking, Senator Saraki would announce who the people of the State will support for any of the elective offices and would not be done through the imagination of some people or through the wills and caprices of some political confusionists.” Alhaji Baraje praised governor AbdulFatah Ahmed for the good job his administration has done so far in the past three years of governance in terms of infrastructural development, empowerment of youths, renovation and up grading of roads and health centres and for ensuring peaceful co-existence of the people of state.
