“Only discipline and hard work would make you better entrepreneurs,” the governor Marsabit county, H.E Amb. Ukur Yatani has said. Addressing young entrepreneurs who graduated yesterday at the Catholic Hall following successful completion of business training spearheaded by the department of Trade and Industry, the governor congratulated the graduands and challenged them to translate whatever knowledge they had gathered into business ventures. “I challenge each one of you to be masters and mistresses of your own destiny. Work as if there’s no tomorrow. Don’t fear to take risks. Learn all tenets of good book-keeping. Don’t limit your horizons. Think big”, the governor counseled. Amb. Kanacho assured the graduands that his government would allocate 30% of its budget towards youth empowerment business programs. He added that plans were also underway to start business training centres in the County and county enterprise funds for those who have demonstrated enviable track record in business entrepreneurship. The governor was flanked the deputy governor,H.E Omar Abdi Ali, the CEC Trade and Industry, Mr. Golich Sora, the Chief Officer for Trade, Mr James Chiwe, the Chief Officer for Youth , Mr Sora katelo , Saku Sub-County administrators and members of the county assembly. Meanwhile, H.E the governor ,the day before, met members of the business community in the county at St. Stephen sTraining Centre where they deliberated extensively on how best the two can work together going forward.
