Only the 4th time Sean has worked with Night Fury/Toothless. :P The progress is amazing. Sean needed to use his energy and the energy of the bag on the stick to get Toothless to move away from pressure. As Sean mentions its so important to get control of the head, neck and shoulders, yet this control it also teaching them to give, to flex, to bend, and to soften. Everything on the ground also pertains to when you are in the saddle. Ground work is the foundation for an all around good minded and well trained horse. Toothless is an unhandled HUGE HUGE bulldog horse with a bucking stock brand on his hip, which means he was bred for the rodeos. Most horses like Toothless buck at the rodeos and when they can no longer buck or wont buck they are then shipped to slaughter. Most of these horses you will see at a kill lot are as you can imagine very afraid and or aggressive with people. Amber of Shiloh Acres Horse Rescue saw something in Toothless. She noticed his curiosity and his kind eye and how he seems completely unhandled, which we are hoping means he was never bucked. This is the very beginning of a new life for a horse that so deserves it!
