Only three times in the KJV is the word accept used in reference - TopicsExpress

Only three times in the KJV is the word accept used in reference to salvation. Not once is it used about us accepting God; it is ONLY used in the context of God accepting us! The following are the ONLY verses in the King James New Testament that use the word accept in a salvation context: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. (Acts 10:35 KJV) Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:9-10 KJV) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (Ephesians 1:5-6 KJV) Again, Please notice that not even one verse speaks of us accepting God. EVERYONE of them speaks of God accepting us! This has been my point all along. Saying the words I accept The Lord Jesus Christ as my personal savior is not in the Bible and is not supported by Scripture. Furthermore, there is no Biblical evidence that saying these words produces or results in acceptance by The Lord.
