Ontario By Election Results.... Liberal Puppets Controlled by NDP Puppet Master Improve the Democratic Process, Join the Revolution Who was the winner in yesterday’s plethora of by-elections was the provincial government puppet master … NDP leader, Andrea Horvath. Last spring the NDP made significant demands upon the Liberals for a budget full of NDP goals. And, before the legislature closed, the Liberals danced to the tugs of the NDP puppet master, presenting a budget full of NDP mandated fare – and it can be argued is waht minority governments are about. I agree, but the less than 37% of voters in the 5 electoral districts does not reflect the will of the majority. How will this affect the operation of the legislature? Horwath, our new provincial puppet master, will continue to pull the strings of Kathleen Wynne and her entire caucus. And, to remain in the position of power, the Liberals will respond to every jerk of the string. How did this happen? It happened because MORE THAN 60 percent of the electorate saw no need to vote. The belief is it does not matter which of the big three parties win s... there would be little difference in the operation of the government, so why waste the energy to learn about the platforms and candidates, travel to the polling station, and put an X on the ballot? How should the vast majority respond? Not by getting involved in one of the 3 parties, history has demonstrated that results in little difference in parties or government. We must become part of a political revolution! What would the revolution look like? The 60+ % of voters, many traditionally minded, need to: - join forces on issues that are of concern, one issue at a time. - Set up advocacy groups in each electoral district - each advocacy group would inform and motivate the 60 % in their community Any MPP ignoring the needs as presented by the local community, the voters will become a threat and run a candidate in opposition. It is surprising the influence a few hundred votes can have on an MPP. This is exactly the strategy of the FCP. Advocacy has begun in a number of electoral districts and we are planning for growth. This fall, join the Revolution. FCP will be hosting a monthly revolution building webinar program that includes information about FCP and developing advocacy in your community.
