Ooo I was nearly just scammed! Thought I would tell you all in case its a nationwide thing. A man just called my home phone claiming to be from an online technical support company who work on behalf of many broadband providers including my own. He claimed I had a major virus on my PC and needed me to go to a website so they could remotely access my computer and fix it. Luckily I was wise to this, hung up and called my internet provider who advised it was a scam and had I continued they would have remotely accessed my computer and removed any information they could, or fooled me into paying hundreds of pounds to fix it. It makes me so mad that others may not be as lucky as me and be taken in by this - he was so wordy and technical I must admit I nearly fell for it! X
