Opaogun Ajibola Wrote: NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF OGUN STATE STUDENTS (NAOSS NATIONAL BODY) No matter how beautiful a house is, once the foundation is destroyed such building will collapse. The leadership of Ogun state students has looked back to the promises of Senator Ibikunle Amosun in 2011 when he pleaded for the student support and he made the following promises 1- 50% reduction in school feels across all state tertiary institutions in the state and the question is why did he fail to implement that after his emergence and what we see is nothing but a deceit 2- He promises free education in both primary and secondary schools, i will love to say to all Ogun state students that education in primary and secondary schools has not been free since Senator Ibikunle Amosun became governor and students still pay for textbooks and exams lots more. Instead of free education students now copy exam questions from black boards, degrading our educational standards. The question is Amosun also enjoyed free education in Nigeria and why cant he do back. 3- He promises prompt payment of bursary and scholarship awards. it is so shocken and sadden that Governor Ibiikunle Amosun never pay a single bursary nor scholarship and he keeps putting the money in every year budget. The question is where is he taking our money to? 4- The governor also promises new lecture hall buildings across state tertiary institutions to bring about good learning condition, no physical development on our campuses, no hostel, no adequate transportation in our campuses. Is this the Ogun standard he promised? 5- Prompt payment of salary was part of your 2011 electoral promises but it is so surprising that civil servants had to spend their xmas miserably after Gov Ibikunle Amosun has failed to pay their salary. No wonder you promised CHANGE and change in negativity we receive. YOU WILL ALL AGREE WITH ME THAT AMOSUN SECOND TERM WILL BE A REPETITION OF HIS PROMISES AND FAILED AGENDA. WE ARE TIRED OF YOUR DECEIT. Students are tired of empty promises. I and some other progressive students leaders have pacified students to bear with your administration, but were tired of promises as well and demand Action with immediate effect. Some of our colleagues in Mapoly and some institutions in the state have also been crying over the non-reduction of their school fees despite the fake promise about the said reduction of school fees in all tertiary institutions. A visit to the school website still shows students to pay #85,000 for this session which is not too different from the last session. You will agree with me that Gov. Ibikunle Amosun has failed us totally. However , we await his 2015 electoral promises to students in Ogun State, and we have decided never to allow such mistakes again and to safe the future of the unborn generation. We hereby plead to all Ogun students and youths in the state to take an inner look of all this and ask ourselves what have we done to deserve all this from Gov. Amosun. CHANGE WE WANT AND NOT RETARDIATION AND EMPLOY YOUNG GRADUATE TO WORK AND NOT YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS. PAY OUR BURSARY AND STOP DECEIVING OGUN STUDENTS.
