Open Notes Life is full of questions, but aren’t we glad that - TopicsExpress

Open Notes Life is full of questions, but aren’t we glad that there are people who will ask the “hard” questions when we were afraid too? In the midst of distress and panic we often become hopeless, helpless and unable to rationalize what the next step will be. When we loose a loved one to heaven, or watch our son or husband go off to war, we can only ask, “Why?” From the begin of Jesus’ ministry he told the disciples - time and time again - what was inevitable and what would be the results. But did they listen? Not well, it seems. In John 14, Thomas and Phillip asked questions that are not foreign to us . . . . the same questions that flood our minds today when faced with situation we can’t comprehend. Where are you taking me? Why? Why are you taking me down this path when surely there is another way? Why should I believe you? Prove it! In soft, quiet, comforting words Jesus tells us to believe in Him, that He will be back to take us to a place where all our questions will be answered and all ours doubt extinguished. But between then and now he will give us a gift to do amazing things in this world, and that He will give us anything we ask for if it is to glorify God. That promise is as good today as it was when He first spoke it. I pray we listen to His words, believe Him and take Him up on His offer to us. Peace in Christ, Pastor Mike
